Ind vs SA Test Series: 3 Reasons Why India Can Win The Test Series On South African Soil

The Indian Cricket team will look to win their maiden Test series on South African soil when they face the hosts in the two matches to be played from 26th December 2023. Since 1992, the Indian team has not been able to win any series which is a tough place to bat.

Last time India had a great chance as began the series on a winning note at Centurion but lost the next two matches in Johannesburg and Cape Town losing it by 1-2.

It looks like a strong unit with top-quality batters with a well-led captain by Rohit Sharma. It promises to be a thrilling series as the Indian team would look to register the maiden Test series on South African soil.

Here we look at the 3 Reasons Why India Can Win The Test Series on South African Soil.

  1. Indian Batting Need To Score Decent Total

The Indian batting order comprising openers Rohit Sharma, and Shubman Gill needs to keep the first new ball away against South African bowling. Yashavi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul and other batters need to put pressure on the pitch having pace and bounce.

If the Indian batting unit can post 300 plus on these two pitches at Centurion and Cape Town, then they can put pressure on the inexperienced South African batting which would be helpful beat South Africa and register their maiden Test series win on their soil.

  1. Great Bowling Attack

The Indian bowling attack had a great pace bowling department with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. They will miss the service of Mohammed Shami, who was ruled out of the Test series due to an injury. Prasidh Krishna would third a pace bowling option along with Shardul Thakur.

Ravindra Jadeja or R Ashwin would be included in the playing XI, boosting the bowling attack. The pace bowling options will create pressure on the South African inexperienced batting lineup.

The bowling attack would be looking to dismiss South African batting cheaply and help the Indian team win their maiden Test series on their soil. Bumrah, Siraj will create an experience of the last South African tour.

  1. Captaincy

The Indian captain Rohit Sharma needs to lead from the front and also show his class with the bat. He will be playing his first South African Test tour as he was ruled out of the last tour of South Africa.

During the recently concluded ODI World Cup, Rohit Sharma showed his aggressive captaincy and led India to the finals before they lost to Australia. If the Indian team can play attacking cricket in the two Test match series, Men in Blue can win their maiden Test series win on the South African series.
