
India have given debut caps to youngsters Prince Yadav and Suryansh Shedge for the second T20I against Ireland on Sunday, June 28. India must win this match to level the two-match T20I series after suffering a surprising defeat in the first game.
Prince, who made his ODI debut against Afghanistan earlier this month, earned his place after consistent performances in the Indian Premier League. He replaces Prasidh Krishna in the playing XI. Meanwhile, Shedge comes in for Washington Sundar. The Punjab Kings batter is known for his aggressive batting and ability to hit big shots.
Prince received his debut cap from all-rounder Shivam Dube, while wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson presented Shedge with his cap in the presence of teammates and support staff. Here is the post:

Shreyas Iyer Praises Debutant Suryansh Shedge for Hard Work
Shreyas Iyer praised young Suryansh Shedge during the toss before the second T20I against Ireland. Having closely observed him at Punjab Kings in the IPL, Iyer said the right-handed batter has gained valuable domestic experience and has earned his India cap.
“He’s a powerful, destructive batter. Yes, he’s a sensational youngster who has scoring runs in the domestic cricket and also in the IPL. He’s got a tremendous amount of experience in youth cricket. So definitely he’s performed in the A tours. So he’s reaping the benefits,” Iyer said at the toss.”
Suryansh Shedge scored valuable lower-order runs for Punjab Kings in Indian Premier League 2026. He scored 165 runs in 10 innings at a strike rate of over 160, including a half-century. Meanwhile, India won the toss and chose to bowl first once again in Belfast. They will aim to dismiss Ireland quickly before chasing the target to level the series.
