Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ramiz Raja feels Pakistan deserve a lot of credit wherever they defeat their arch-rivals India. He expressed that India has begun to respect the Pakistan team after the recent results in Pakistan’s favor at the World Cup events.

India had an outstanding winning record against Pakistan of 12-0 in World Cup encounters since last October. However, since then Pakistan has won two out of the three matches against their neighbors, including the Asia Cup match. Referring to those results, Ramiz Raja praised the Pakistan cricket team for challenging the strong Indian line-up.

Speaking to the Dawn, Ramiz Raja said,

“It is a mental match more than skill and talent. So, if you are temperamentally strong, mentally focused, and not willing to give up, then any small team can defeat a bigger opposition Pakistan has been underdogs whenever they have competed against India, but of late, they have started respecting us because they have a gut feeling that Pakistan will never be able to beat us.”

Pakistan competes hard with India, despite limited resources for preparations: Ramiz Raja

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja expressed that the team competes well against India, despite limited resources to prepare for the high-pressure match. He added that the team deserves a lot of credit, as they defeated a “billion-dollar cricket industry.”

“That’s why I keep saying ‘give credit to Pakistan’ because we defeat a billion-dollar cricket industry. Even I myself have played in World Cups and we were never able to beat India. This (Pakistan) team needs to be given a lot of credit since they compete hard with India despite having limited resources for preparations as compared to them,” said Ramiz Raja.

The upcoming 2022 T20 World Cup is all set to witness the clash of the arch-rivals, on Sunday, October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Stadium.
