India U19 Crush England As Harvansh Pangalia Steals The Show

While the senior Indian team faced a setback with a 5-wicket loss to England in the first Test at Leeds, the Under-19 team brought cheer by delivering an extraordinary performance in a tour match against the England Young Lions at Loughborough. Under the captaincy of Ayush Mhatre, the U19 team posted a staggering 444 runs in just 50 overs and secured a massive 231-run win.

Interestingly, Mhatre, who had recently made headlines for his IPL 2025 performances with Chennai Super Kings, managed to score only 1 run in the match. Despite the presence of young IPL stars like the 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who contributed just 17 runs, it was a relatively unknown name who made the biggest impact.

Harvansh Pangalia Leads with the Bat

The star performer of the match was 18-year-old Harvansh Pangalia, who played a sensational unbeaten knock of 103 runs off just 52 balls. His explosive innings featured 8 boundaries and 9 towering sixes. He received strong support from Rahul Kumar, who scored 73 runs in 60 balls.

Kanishk Chauhan added another vital 79 runs from 67 balls, while R.S. Ambrish contributed an aggressive 72 off 47 deliveries. Their combined efforts helped India U19 achieve one of their highest-ever totals in 50-over cricket. The team’s power-packed batting display overwhelmed the England bowlers and created a nearly unchaseable target.

Bowling Effort and Harvansh’s Inspiring Background

India’s bowlers backed up the batting performance with discipline and precision. Deepesh Devendran stood out by taking three crucial wickets, while Naman Pushpak and Vihaan Malhotra grabbed two wickets each. The strong bowling display ensured England’s young side had no chance to come close to the target. Harvansh Pangalia, the hero of the match, is a wicketkeeper-batter from Gandhidham, a small town in Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch region.

He received his training at Neelkanth Cricket Academy under coach Nakul Ayachi. Harvansh’s story is especially inspiring, as his family is now based in Canada, where his father works as a truck driver in Brampton. His incredible performance has now put him in the spotlight, outshining even those with IPL fame and proving that talent can emerge from anywhere.
