India Upholds Its Medal-Winning Tradition During The Ongoing England Test Series

The India vs. England Test series concluded with the hosts securing a 4-1 victory after initially losing the first game. Under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, India displayed dominance throughout. Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, and Kuldeep Yadav received the medals.

Following the series, the team continued its tradition of awarding medals for outstanding on-field performances. The fielding coach continued this practice during every ODI World Cup 2023 game, recognizing excellent fielding efforts.

Introducing a distinctive element, two fielding accolades were presented post the series – one for exceptional catching skills and another for unwavering efforts in the field.

Jay Shah, the Secretary of BCCI, awarded Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill the ‘impact fielder of the series’ accolade following their 4-1 triumph against England in the five-match Test series.

The BCCI shared a video featuring Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill jointly receiving the first medal, while Kuldeep Yadav secured the award for relentless fielding. The BCCI’s post playfully invited guesses for the recipient of the series’ Fielding Medal.

India assert their dominance over England throughout the Test series

Discussing the concluded series, India showcased consistent dominance over England. The five-match series commenced in Hyderabad, witnessing an impressive performance by the Ben Stokes-led England team. An Ollie Pope masterclass contributed to the visitors taking the lead in the series.

However, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, India displayed brilliance in the subsequent four matches, securing the series. With outstanding performances, the hosts outperformed England in every game following their initial loss in the first Test.

Additionally, post the series, numerous players will disperse to participate in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The 17th edition of this premier tournament is scheduled to commence on March 22, featuring the season opener between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
