England all-rounder Ben Stokes is arguably the best cricketer in the world today across all formats. The 29-year-old in the last few years has been unstoppable and has helped his side win miraculous matches. With Stokes in the side, England has the luxury of playing a proper batsman in the middle order and a wicket-taking bowler during a match.

Meanwhile, Stokes is currently at the peak of his powers. During the second Test, he scored his 10th Test hundred. He also achieved an incredible feat as he became only the fifth all-rounder to do the triple of scoring 4000 runs taking 150 wickets with 10 centuries in Test cricket.

Irfan Pathan lauds Ben Stokes

After his amazing match-winning, 176 and 80* in the first and second innings and 5 wickets in the  Test against West Indies was awarded the player of the match. Not only that Stokes is now the No.1 all-rounder in the world in the latest ICC rankings. He has also reached a career-high ranking of three in Test cricket and is now only behind Steve Smith and Virat Kohli.

Ben Stokes

Former Indian-all rounder Irfan Pathan recently lauded Ben Stokes match-winning ability. Pathan on Twitter, expressed that if team India had an all-rounder like Stokes they will be unbeatable. He further added that Stokes is a match-winner all around the world and a real asset for his side.

“Indian cricket will be unbeatable anywhere in the world if they have a match-winning all rounder like @benstokes38,” Pathan wrote on Twitter.

The Indian team for a very long time now have been unable to find a consistent all-rounder. After Pathan’s retirement, India did not have the luxury of playing a seam-bowling all-rounder until Hardik Pandya’s debut.

The flamboyant all-rounder has the quality and has performed well in patches in international cricket but time and time again has been hampered by injuries. He is likely to make a return during the IPL scheduled to take place in UAE.
