India’s pace ace Jasprit Bumrah has donated the shoes he wore while claiming a historic five-wicket haul on Day 2 of the third Test against England at Lord’s. The shoes are now proudly displayed at the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) Museum in London, joining a collection of treasured cricket memorabilia.
Just before the second Test, the museum also unveiled a portrait of Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar. The iconic venue already houses several significant items from India’s cricketing history, including the jersey worn by Kapil Dev during the 1983 World Cup triumph.
With figures of 5 for 74 in the first innings, Bumrah surpassed the previous record held by an iconic Indian pace-bowling all-rounder for the most five-wicket hauls in overseas Tests, playing a key role in bundling England out for 387. The right-arm pacer had a significant impact across both days of the innings, starting by clean bowling Harry Brook on Day 1.
He sparked a major collapse on Day 2 with the second new ball, removing Ben Stokes, Joe Root, and Chris Woakes in quick succession. Bumrah later sealed his five-wicket haul by dismissing Jofra Archer near the end of the innings. As per a PTI report, while Bumrah chose to keep the match ball as a personal memento, he donated his match-worn shoes to the MCC Museum.

“Truly Special Moment” – Bumrah Reflects on Joining Lord’s Honours Board
Jasprit Bumrah was rested for the Edgbaston Test to keep him fresh for Lord’s, where conditions were expected to favour him. Despite a slow pitch and tricky Dukes ball, he delivered brilliantly, claiming a five-wicket haul and earning a spot on the Lord’s honours board.
“It feels really special because we don’t come here very often. We don’t play a lot of Test matches here. We come here maybe every four years. So you never know how many matches you’ll get to play here. As a child, you’ve seen a lot of Test cricket played here. So now being on the honours board feels good,” Bumrah said after Stumps on Day 2 (via Times Now).
