Former Indian cricketer Madan Lal was among those who voiced strong disapproval of Harmanpreet’s behavior. He took to social media, expressing his disappointment and calling for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to take strict disciplinary action.
In the aftermath of the dramatic third ODI, Harmanpreet used the post-match presentation to criticize the umpires further. She questioned their decisions and called for neutral officials to officiate India’s future matches in Bangladesh.
While the captain has the right to express concerns, the manner in which Harmanpreet did it was perceived as unprofessional and undermining the spirit of the game.
The BCCI and the International Cricket Council (ICC) are yet to announce any official sanctions against Harmanpreet. However, it is widely believed that she could face severe penalties for her conduct during the match.
