Australia’s fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the ongoing test series against Bangladesh and upcoming ODI series against India starting from 17th September. He picked the side strain during the 3rd day of 1st test against Bangladesh at Mirpur, Dhaka and left the ground. Despite him going out, Australia’s Nathan Lyon picked 6 wickets to bowl out the hosts for 221.
Josh Hazlewood will not play the second test against Bangladesh at Chittagong starting from 4th September. It is a big blow for Australian team as Mitchell Starc and James Pattison is not a part of the Indian ODI squad. Hazlewood was a part of the squad of both ODI and T20. After the ODI series, Australia will play three T20 matches.
At the end of day 3, Australia is currently 156 runs away to win the first match with David Warner and Steve Smith at the crease. Josh Hazlewood will be sent to the home after completing the first test match with the selectors announcing the replacement on Wednesday. It will take a month to recover from injury.
The pitch at Chittagong is expected to help the Pacers and Hazlewood would be missed in the second test match. Apart from these two Pacers, Jackson Bird is the third pacer.
“He”s been bowling beautifully here. Again, someone who has been around the team a long time and been bowling really well. Had some great performances for Australia in the past as well. It”s not good to miss Josh, but we”re lucky we have such a strong squad over here.”
Both Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc are important members of the Australian bowling line up. With the Ashes series starting in November, these two bowlers need to fit and bowl with aggression. It”s going to be an exciting series between England and Australia. Last time, England went to Australia it was a 0-5 whitewash to Australia.
