Former South African skipper Graeme Smith has shared a piece of advice for Rahul Tewatia. The Indian all-rounder recently shared a cryptic tweet after India’s squad for the Ireland tour was announced by the selectors.

Rahul Tewatia wasn’t included in the 17-member Indian squad for the two T20I matches. He wrote ‘expectations hurts’ on his Twitter account, maybe indicating that he was expecting his name in the Indian team.

Former cricketer Graeme Smith expressed that India has a huge talent pool of players. He added that Rahul Tewatia should focus on his performance instead of Twitter so that he cannot be left out of the squad. Smith said:

“It’s very difficult in India as you guys have so much talent. And coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma must have picked their majority of guys anticipating the conditions in Australia. I would say instead of Twitter, focus, perform, and next time your time comes make sure no one can leave you out.”

At least his hard work should have been recognized: Sunil Gavaskar feels Rahul Tewatia should have been part of the Ireland tour

Former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar feels Rahul Tewatia should have been a part of the Indian team for the Ireland tour. He pointed out the all-rounder’s brilliant performance in the Indian Premier League.

Tewatia won a few matches for the Gujarat Titans with his powerful batting. He was a key member of their title-winning campaign in IPL 2022.

“Rahul Tewatia should have been in the team for Ireland. The one man who should have been in the team was Iceman Rahul Tewatia. He was superb in IPL. He batted cleverly throughout the tournament. Someone who shows that kind of temperament should have been in the team at least as the 16th member of the team. At least his hard work should have been recognized,” said Sunil Gavaskar.
