De Kock was bought by RCB ahead of IPL 2018 for 2.8 crores. He played eight innings for them, scoring 201 runs at a below-par strike rate of 124. He was then traded to Mumbai Indians by RCB ahead of IPL 2019. He has been the top-scorer for the side this season scoring 483 runs from 15 games and counting.

In a season where the RCB batting line-up has struggled throughout the franchise will be rueing leaving out De Kock. Batting at the top, he would also have kept for RCB putting a lot less pressure on the likes of AB De Villiers and Virat Kohli.
