5. Joe Root

The England Test captain Joe Root became a father for the first time in 2017. At the time Root hadn’t tied the knot but got engaged with his girlfriend in March 2016. Carrie Cottrell and Joe Root were blessed with their first child a baby boy on January 7, 2017. The couple named their son Alfred William Root who is now often spotted during matches of the England cricket team.

Root and Carrie decided to get hitched on 1 December 2018. Earlier this year the couple became parents for the second time with the arrival of their second boy. In July 2020, Root had skipped the first Test match against West Indies in order to be with his wife. Root via social media updated all his fans with a picture of his newborn.
