It has been three weeks since Chennai Super Kings stalwart Suresh Raina has pulled out of IPL 2020. The saga which showed no intentions to end has finally been buried. Any possible chances of Raina’s return have been ruled out after Chennai removed his name from their website.

There have been multiple reports have suggested that Raina left the bio-secure bubble after a rift with the management over hotel room. CSK CEO N Srinivasan’s comments also ignited the fire. As per the reports, ever since CSK landed in Dubai on August 21, Suresh Raina was unhappy with the hotel room he was provided.

He also found the strict bio-secure bubble claustrophobic and wanted a room like MS Dhoni. Moreover, the issue with ‘Raina’s room not having proper balconies’ became a flashpoint as the CSK team quarantined itself in the team hotel. So much so that even Dhoni, a close confidant of Raina couldn’t calm the situations down.

Meanwhile, following a string of poor performance from the Super Kings, there have been calls to bring back Suresh Raina. The southpaw is their highest run-getter and has been an integral part of their three-time title-winning campaign.

However, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has ruled out any chances saying that it was Raina, who pulled out and they respect their decision.

We cannot look at Raina because he made himself unavailable, and we respect his decision and his space. We are not thinking about it,” Viswanathan told ANI on comeback of Suresh Raina.
