Mumbai Indians beat Kings XI Punjab by 48 runs in match 13 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020)in Abu Dhabi In the process, they have topped the points table with two wins from four games. In many ways, Mumbai hard-hitters Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya were the architects of this victory.

From 124/4 after Rohit Sharma’s dismissal in the 17th over, the duo scored 77 off 33 balls among themselves to help MI finish on 191 for 3 after 20 overs. Hardik further said that the prospect of facing a spinner in the 20th over was mouth-watering as they took 25 off Krishnappa Gowtham’s last over.

Mumbai have won two and lost two so far in the IPL. One of them was to a Super Over against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Perennial slow starters, Mumbai are showing the same sign in this IPL as well.

Always Enjoyed Batting With Kieron Pollard: Hardik Pandya

After the match, Hardik Pandya spoke about his thoughts on batting alongside Pollard having batted with him for a long time now.

“The number of times Pollard and I have done this, I’ve always enjoyed it. It was a clear message for me that I had to go and get some big runs at the end and get to a total that the Kings XI (would) find difficult. We didn’t aim for 192, but we were lucky enough that the big man (Pollard) has done it again,” Hardik Pandya said.

However, Hardik Pandya, who is now a senior player in the side, said that there is someone from the team who is always putting his hand up to take their team over the line, which is something that works well within the team.

Jasprit Bumrah bowled a spell of 18 for 2 after going the journey against Royal Challengers Bangalore, a couple of nights ago. Mumbai now face Sunrisers Hyderabad in Sharjah, on Sunday, October 4. Both the two matches played in Sharjah so far has seen 200 plus scores set each time.
