6. MS Dhoni
The Chennai Super Kings skipper came into this season without playing a competitive game ever since the 2019 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand. Though he was well prepared with enough practice sessions at Chennai, it didn’t well reflect in his performance as he failed to finish off even a single game for his side.
He struggled to get off the mark and faced difficulties in facing the spinners as Varun Chakravarthy and Rahul Chahar kept getting the skipper off in front of the wicket. In the 14 matches Dhoni played this season, he could merely score 200 runs without a single fifty to his name. Moreover his strike rate this season was on all-time low in IPL history as he was striking at just 116 this season.
