Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by five wickets in Sharjah on Saturday to stay alive in IPL 2020. In the process, SRH has moved into the top four with 12 points as RCB maintain their position at number two, after Delhi’s loss against Mumbai Indians in the first game of the day. In a must-win game for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, SRH skipper David Warner won the toss opted to bowl first. Their bowlers yet again stood up and performed as a unit as they restricted RCB.

Sandeep Sharma and Jason Holder picked up two wickets, while Natarajan, Rashid and Nadeen picked one each. Sandeep took the wicket of RCB skipper Virat Kohli for the seventh time in his career. Rashid Khan dismissed AB De Villiers for 24 to derail Banglore’s innings as they ended up with 120 for 7. Josh Phillippe top-scored with 3 for RCB.

Sunrisers Hyderabad lost David Warner (8) early in the chase as they wobbled early. Wriddhiman Saha (39) and Manish Pandey (26) added 50 inside the first seven overs. From 60 for 1 in the seventh over, SRH slipped to 87 for 4 in the 12th over. Jason Holder (26 off 10) then played a cameo to win the game in the 15th over for his side.

What Was the Turning Point of The Game?

The partnership of 60 between Pandey and Saha was the turning point in the game. Holder’s 26’s at the end was the most important turning point in the game.

Sandeep Sharma was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his spell of 2 for 20. Sandeep has been consistently performing for his team and will be important in their final game as well.

“I have been bowling the knuckleball, Jonny (Bairstow) has been helping me. It took around three or four months to get it right. Kohli is one of the greatest batsmen, so getting him out is special. Now we are finding the momentum with one game to go. We are excited about that, let’s see what happens” said Sandeep after his matchwinning spell.”
