If reports close to sources from the SRH camp is to be believed than Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh could well be ruled out from the remainder of IPL 2020. Marsh injured his ankle in the very second ball of spell and had to be taken out of the ground.

His injury has aggravated in the last 24 hours and Sunrisers skipper David Warner too said that he is not likely to recover anytime sooner.

“It seems a serious injury. I am not sure if he’be able to compete in any of the matches,” a team source told PTI.

Earlier, Warner praised his countryman for his vigour to come into bat despite an injured ankle. “A lot of courage for Mitchell (Marsh) to go out there and try. It doesn’t look great for him, can’t put any weight on his leg” said Warner.

Dan Christian to Replace Mitchell Marsh for SRH?

SRH are planning to rope in experienced all-rounder Dan Christian as his replacement. The 40-year old has played 40 games and has represented Rising Pune Supergiants and Royal Challengers Bangalore before in the IPL.

Talking to Star Sports, Warner provided another update on Marsh’s injury saying that it does not look to good for the SRH all-rounder. “It doesn’t look great. A lot of courage from him to walk out there and try his best, but it was unfortunate tonight” the SRH skipper said.

Meanwhile, Mitchell Marsh’s injury also opens up a spot for Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammed Nabi to make a comeback in the XI. These low and slow pitches in the UAE is best suited for his off-spin. Plus he is a handy option with the bat in the middle-order.

With the Sunrisers needing someone to bat for them in the middle-order it will be interesting to see who among Kane Williamson and Nabi gets the nod ahead. SRH play their next game against KKR in Abu Dhabi on September 26.
