The league stage of IPL 2020 will get over on November 3 with Sunrisers Hyderabad facing off against Mumbai Indians. Delhi Capitals (14), Royal Challengers Bangalore (14) and Mumbai Indians (12) are the top three teams in the points table.
The three teams have almost guaranteed themselves a spot in IPL 2020 Playoffs. Out of the rest five teams, only one of them will make it to the fourth spot inn the points table and make the playoffs. With 17 games still to go, the fight for the fourth spot is on between teams like KKR, CSK, KXIP, SRH and RR.
Here is a look at the remaining fixture of these teams and trying to understand who among them have the best chance of making it to the IPL 2020 Playoffs.
IPL 2020 Playoffs
KKR have four more games to go in the league stage. With a net run-rate of (-0.828), they need to win all four games to make it to the playoffs. Also, they need to win by big margins to bring that net run-rate to a positive reading. They play Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals in their remaining fixtures.
CSK has lost seven games in this IPL season. Their net run-rate too reads in minus (-0.463). In their remaining games, CSK face Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore in two of their four remaining matches. Winning against these two teams will be a challenge given that both are them are the strongest team in this season so far. The face KKR and KXIP in their remaining two games will not be easy either.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have lost a bit of momentum losing their last three games. They have a total of five games remaining and they face, DC, RCB and MI in three of their last five games. They play the Royals tonight and will look to win it to stay in the competition. Among all the teams, SRH have the toughest matches remaining before the playoffs.
Kings XI Punjab won their last three games after losing five of their first seven games. They have momentum on their side heading into the remaining games. They face SRH, KKR, RR and CSK in their last four fixtures. Given that all of these teams have shown a tendency to lose more than win, Kings XI have a really good chance of winning all four of their fixtures and make a giant leap in the playoffs.
Royals face the Sunrisers tonight to start their countdown to the IPL 2020 playoffs. Like all the teams, they need to win all their remaining games to make it to the playoffs. After playing against Sunrisers tonight, they will have matches against Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders in their remaining three games.
