Former Indian opener and Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir has said that he is really looking forward to seeing Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020. The four-time IPL champions will play the first game of the season against Chennai Super Kings. Talking to the Star Sports Show Cricket Connected, Gambhir made this revelation.

“I am really excited to watch how Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah will bowl with the new ball, because we all know Bumrah and Boult are world class bowlers, and in the T20 format both are wicket-taking options. A left-arm seamer, who will bring the ball inside for a right-hand batsman while Jasprit Bumrah believes in an unorthodox style of bowling,” Gautam Gambhir said.

MI legend, Lasith Malinga will be missing from this season due to personal reasons, which is why this pair of Bumrah and Boult will be excited to watch, Boult has represented three IPL franchises in the past and was happy to be now playing for the Rohit Sharma led-side.

“I have played for a couple of other franchises but I am obviously excited to be a part of the Mumbai Indians family. Speaking from experience I have played against them a few times. The big challenge that you face when you come up against this side is that they have always been very intimidating. So it’s nice to be on the other end of it and be part of such a cool group,” Boult said to MI TV.

Gautam Gambhir Backs MI to Win IPL 2020 Opener

Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir has backed Mumbai Indians to win the IPL 2020 opener against Chennai Super Kings. Gautam Gambhir feels Mumbai have got better depth in their team, while the addition of Boult will make the difference in the game he feels.

Mumbai will face KKR in their second game in IPL 2020 after facing CSK in the campaign opener.
