The Kolkata Knight Riders recorded a clinical win over Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2020. Much like their previous match, KKR executed a complete performance.

The Royals, on the other hand, failed to adapt to the conditions in Dubai. The likes of Sanju Samson and Steve Smith got out cheaply in the chase that set them back. After the dismissal of Jos Buttler, the Royals were never in the game as KKR kept picking wickets at regular intervals.

Fast bowlers Pat Cummins and Shivam Mavi were at their best as they never allowed the Royals batsmen to get away with the match. The spin duo of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy were also impressive. Plus the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik was spot on as he hardly put a foot wrong.

In the end, KKR defeated RR and won their second match of IPL 2020. Also with RR losing no team is now undefeated in the current season of IPL.

A lot Of Areas We Need To Improve- Dinesh Karthik

Earlier in the match, KKR were put into batting first and they posted a competitive 174 runs on the board. Shubman Gill once again was the highest run-scorer of KKR with 47. Andre Russell also chipped in with a quickfire 24 from 14. Eoin Morgan in the death overs showed his class once again as he took KKR’s total to 174. Morgan scored 34 from 23 balls.

Here’s what the winning captain of KKR, Dinesh Karthik had to say after the match

Dinesh Karthik said, “Wouldn’t call it a perfect game. Lot of areas we need to improve. The way Gill batted, Mavi bowled, Russell batted. Also, the youngsters going after the high catches. Archer bowled really well. Wasn’t that easy a wicket to bat on”.

“A couple of guys made it look better than it was. These boys, the journey they’ve been through when they’re not playing, is a hard one. Putting runs on the board is what we thought was the best way to go forward on this ground”, said KKR captain Karthik.
