KL Rahul brought up the second IPL ton of his career and the first of this season against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Dubai on Thursday. He got to his hundred in the 19th over of the Punjab innings hitting a boundary to dale Steyn.

Rahul was dropped twice en route to his ton by Virat Kohli. He finally ended his innings unbeaten on 132 off 69 deliveries after having a particularly slow start to their innings. Punjab courtesy his ton ended on a mammoth 206 for 3 after their 20 overs.

Meanwhile, the KXIP skipper garnered huge praise on Twitter for his unbeaten ton which included 14 fours and seven sixes.

Rahul upped his run-scoring in the final five overs of the KXIP innings particularly taking a liking to Dale Steyn. he hit Steyn for three sixes and one boundary in the 19th over and followed it up by going after Shivam Dube in the 20th over scoring 23 runs off his over.

Rahul was dismissed cheaply in the first match against Delhi Capitals, but against his former club RCB, Rahul was in red hot form.

It was a masterclass of batting display from KL Rahul as he was in top form. He scored the first 30 runs of his innings in 23 balls, his next 30 in 19, his next 30 in 18 and in his last nine balls KL Rahul scored 42 runs.

Courtesy this ton, Rahul is currently the leading run-scorer in the tournament with 154 runs from 2 matches. he has scored these runs at a strike rate of 191.30.

KL Rahul has the highest score made by an Indian batsman in the IPL. He overtook Rishabh Pant‘s 128 in 2018.

Meanwhile, the KXIP skipper garnered huge praise on Twitter for his unbeaten ton which included 14 fours and seven sixes.
