The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked all the IPL franchises to make sure that all the members traveling to UAE for the second half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) are fully vaccinated. Notably, this decision has been taken by BCCI looking at the current situation of Covid-19.

“We have been told that all those traveling should have completed taking both the doses of vaccination so that there is no problem once teams reach UAE. The quarantine process is most likely going to be seven days before teams can start training,” the source speaking to ANI said.Â
Meanwhile, recently the BCCI revealed that the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 will take place in UAE. Notably, there are a total of 31 matches remaining in the IPL 2021 which will take place in the duration of 27 days in the UAE. Also, there have been a total of three venues finalized for the event, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah.
The 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was suspended indefinitely after the Covid-19 spread in camp. However, later it was announced that the second phase of the 14th edition of IPL will begin on September 19 in Dubai. Also, the first match will be a prolific battle between the giants of IPL, Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians and MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings.
Pat Cummins to miss UAE leg of IPL 2021
Meanwhile, BCCI has confirmed that England players who were not expected to join the UAE leg will return in the IPL. However one big Australian will not be available in the IPL. The fierce Australian pacer Pat Cummins has stated that he will not be available in the second half of IPL 2021.
“Unfortunately, at this stage, I probably won’t be going to the IPL. I haven’t made an official call on it. But my partner is pregnant and our baby is due in the middle of the IPL. At the moment, there is a travel restriction to get back to Australia, you got to do 2 weeks quarantine,” the Australian fast bowler said on his YouTube channel.
