Kuldeep Yadav lost a bit of form and a whole lot of support both in the Indian team camp and the KKR camp. The mystery spinner who was once’s India’s first-choice spinner in overseas conditions has badly fallen out of favour since the last few years. The KKR management not supporting him in recent times has affected his performance big time.
Talking to Aakash Chopra on his Youtube channel, Kuldeep Yadav opened up on how the KKR management have handled him in the meantime and what problems have he faced in the same time as well.
Very Difficult To Sit Out, Says Kuldeep Yadav
“If the coaches have worked with you before and are with you for a prolonged period of time, they understand you better. But it becomes very difficult when the communication is weak. Sometimes you don’t even know that whether you will be playing or not, or what the team expects from you. Sometimes you feel that you are deserving to play, can win matches for the team, but you don’t know the reason why you are not playing. The management comes for 2 months with their plans, so that makes it difficult,” said Kuldeep.
Kuldeep then spoke about the different ways in which the players approached in the India camp and the KKR franchise. He said that the Indian team management informs the players whether they are playing a particular game or not while there is no such thing in the KKR management at the moment.
“In the Indian team they talk to you when you are not selected, but it does not happen in the IPL,” “I remember that I had spoken to the franchise before the IPL but in the matches that happened in the middle, nobody gave me an explanation. I was a bit shocked. I felt like there was no trust, like they had no faith in my skill. This happens when the team has many options. KKR now has plenty of spin bowling options” Kuldeep Yadav said.
Kuldeep is yet to play a game in this edition of the IPL. With Varun Chakravarty already in the mix, it will be interesting to see if he gets a game this season.
