IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore To Arrange Charter Flight For Virat Kohli & Mohammed Siraj

As per reports in ANI, Royal Challengers Bangalore is arranging for a chartered flight for Virat Kohli and Mohammed Siraj from Manchester to Dubai for IPL 2021 on Sunday morning. The UAE leg resumes on September 19 with CSK and Mumbai Indians playing the opener. RCB take on KKR in the second game on September 20. An RCB official reported that the two players will fly on Saturday at 11:30 pm (UK time) and would reach Dubai by Sunday morning. 

“Yes, we have arranged a charter flight for Virat and Siraj. Both of them will be flying out at 11:30 PM UK time on Saturday and they will reach Dubai early Sunday morning. Safe transit of players is the utmost priority for RCB. They will undergo 6-day quarantine there before joining the team bubble” said the RCB official. 

Meanwhile, the fifth and final Test match between England and India was cancelled due to COVID scare in the Indian camp. The BCCI and the ECB reached on a unanimous decision to cancel the Test match. 

The ECB had sent out a statement after a decision was reached by the two boards mutually. 

Following ongoing conversations with the BCCI, the ECB can confirm that the fifth LV= Insurance Test between England and India Men due to start today at Emirates Old Trafford, will be canceled. Due to fears of a further increase in the number of COVID cases inside the camp, India is regrettably unable to field a team. We send our sincere apologies to fans and partners for this news” ECB’s statement read.

Meanwhile, while RCB has arranged charter flight for Kohli and Siraj, Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings players are expected to fly in commercial flights. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has also shared the travel plans of the CSK players. 

“The charter flight is no longer possible. We’re trying to arrange tickets for them on a commercial flight tomorrow. When they land, they will be quarantined for six days just like the rest of the players” he said. ”
