As per reports in InsideSport, the second half of IPL 2021 will resume from September 17 in the UAE. The final will be played on October 10. In its SGM meeting on Saturday, the BCCI said that the second half of the tournament will be played in the UAE. However, they are yet to announce the schedule. Meanwhile, one of the reasons why BCCI is waiting to announce the schedule is understood to be the CPL 2021. 

The CPL 2021 will see all the matches being played at Warner Park in St. Kitts & Nevis from August 28 to September 19. Meanwhile, the BCCI is trying the CPL organisers to convince them to start the tournament a week to 10 days earlier so that the Windies and the other overseas players can be available for IPL 2021 2.0.

According to the information available with InsideSport,  BCCI will now put in a request to Cricket West Indies to advance the Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2021) by week to 10 days.

“We will speak to all the boards about the availability of their players. We will also speak to Cricket West Indies, we always had a great relationship with everyone and we are confident some solution will come out in the next few days”, said one of the top BCCI officials. 

The schedule of the second half of IPL 2021 can have minor changes. The BCCI is expected to announce the dates and the schedule in the next 10 dates. As per the sources, more double-headers. As many as 31 matches including the knockouts and the final will be played in the 24-day window. 

Meanwhile, the office-bearers have also asked for an extension from the Internation Cricket Council (ICC) to take an appropriate decision about hosting the T20 World Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place in India, starting in the middle of October.
