Delhi Capitals Indian players who were in the UK have landed in the UAE on Sunday morning. A day before Mumbai Indians players Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav also reached UAE. Chris Woakes is not a part of the side after he pulled out from IPL 2021. Hyderabad’s Jonny Bairstow has also pulled out from the UAE leg.
On Sunday morning (September 12), Delhi Capitals (DC) announced that their players have reached Dubai. They tested negative for COVID-19 upon arriving there. Rishabh Pant, R Ashwin, Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Axar Patel, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav who have landed in Dubai from the UK. They will be following a six-day quarantine period during which they will be tested thrice.

Despite Shreyas Iyer back with the squad, the franchise has retained Rishabh Pant as the skipper of the side for the remaining tournament. With six wins from eight games, the side is topping the points table at the moment. As per reports in Sportskeeda, the management wants to give some more time to Shreyas Iyer to recover. As a result, Rishabh Pant will continue to lead the side.
“While it is great news that Shreyas Iyer is fit again and ready to get back to action, it is understood that the DC management want to give him more time to recover. As a result, Pant will continue as captain, but only for the second half of IPL 2021,” the report stated.
