Suresh Raina has been an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings franchise over the years. He has played in 200 IPL matches, scoring 5491 runs at an average of 33.07 and a strike rate of 136.89. Raina ranks third in terms of most runs scored in the Indian Premier League.
The left-handed batsman announced his retirement from international cricket last year on August 15. Though Raina hasn’t been playing much cricket of late, the CSK franchise will back their middle-order batsman to fire in the second phase of the league.
The Chennai-based franchise will leave for the United Arab Emirates by August 13 or August 14. They will begin their training for the season in Dubai. The Chennai Super Kings will take on the Mumbai Indians in the very first match after resumption on September 19 at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai.
