Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya is all set to lead the Gujarat Titans in their debut Indian Premier League (IPL) season. He recently stated that his return to bowling will be a surprise element for the fans, in the upcoming IPL season.
Ahead of the IPL 2022 season, the Gujarat Titans revealed their jersey for the upcoming edition. During the launch, Hardik Pandya was asked about his fitness update. The all-rounder has struggled with injuries over the last few years, which has hampered his bowling.
Hardik has not bowled consistently for India or the Mumbai Indians. When asked about his return to bowling, the all-rounder preferred to keep it as a surprise. He said during the jersey launch,
“Sir, it would be a surprise, so let it be a surprise.”

The all-rounder also spoke about leading the Gujarat Titans. He was signed by the franchise in the pre-IPL auctions draft for 15 crores. This will be Hardik’s first stint as a captain in the Indian Premier League.
The right-hander reavealed that he will make sure to be honest with the players and help them out. He said,
“Success is theirs, failure is mine. Our role will be to make sure the players are comfortable in whatever capacity we can help them out. Clarity, honesty has to be there.”
Excited to spend time with Ashish Nehra: Hardik Pandya
Former India cricketer Ashish Nehra will be the head coach for the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022. Speaking about how Ashish Nehra’s presence will help the team, Hardik said that the former cricketer will allow the players the freedom to play in their own way.
He added that he is excited to spend time with Nehra in IPL 2022.
“He’s the funniest guy one can come across. He will never give you the coach vibe. It was very clear with Nehraji that let all the players decide what they want to do and give them freedom. You make mistakes but eventually, you learn. I’m very excited to spend time with him,” said Hardik Pandya.
