Lucknow Super Giants head coach, Gautam Gambhir has asserted that Krunal Pandya and Deepak Hooda are mature people, and there will be no issues with both playing in the same team. The duo was involved in a controversy last year, playing for Baroda in the domestic tournament.
Deepak Hooda accused Baroda captain Krunal of misbehaving with him. He left the Baroda team following the incident. This year, the duo was signed by the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2022 auctions.
Considering the history, some believed Krunal and Deepak playing together will cause concerns for the franchise. However, Gautam Gambhir disagrees.
The former cricketer expressed that the duo does not have to be best friends off the field. He said, as quoted by the Sportskeeda, “Look, you don’t have to be best friends off the field to perform on it. They are professionals and they know that they have a job to do. You don’t have to go out for dinner every night if you are playing in the same team.”
