Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s dream comes to reality when he met Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan. Kolkata Knight Riders beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 81 runs at Eden Garden in IPL 2023. Bangalore got off to a flying start when they got 3 wickets inside 50 runs, in addition to this RCB also got Andre Russell for a golden duck. RCB were all over Kolkata Knight Riders till 12 overs.
Kolkata’s half side was in the dugout and they were scuffling at 89 for 5. Shardul Thakur came into bat and took the Eden Gardens by storm scoring 68 off 29 balls. Rinku Singh anchored the innings on the other end scoring a vital 46 in 33 deliveries. Kolkata Knight Riders set up a mammoth total of 205 in 20 overs.
Gurbaz on playing in front of the Home crowd for the first time
The Stars for Kolkata were Gurbaz, Shardul and Rinku Singh. Apart from these 3 batsmen, no other batsman reached the double-figure mark. Gurbaz scored 57 in 44 deliveries. His innings was essential in reaching this total.
Gurbaz went on to add, “I was a little bit nervous, seeing this big crowd, but the team management and the coach supported me, which gave me a lot of confidence. I think that was amazing.”Â
In yesterday’s match, Gurbaz adapted to the situation and played accordingly. Once he gets proper starts, he is the kind of player who can convert them into big scores. Gurbaz’s form will be vital in securing the playoff berth for KKR.
Kolkata climbed up to 3rd position after defeating RCB. KKRs next match is against Gujarat Titans on 9th April, Sunday. Can they hand Gujarat their first loss of the season? Or will Gujarat Titans march on to their 3rd win of the season? Kolkata plays GT at Ahmedabad from 3:30 onwards. Gujarat Titans will be a tough challenge for KKR.
