Aarya Desai from Gujarat has joined Kolkata Knight Riders for the remainder of IPL 2023. Early this year, Gujarat’s 20-year-old Desai made his First Class debut, and he has three fifty-plus scores to his credit.

A media release from the IPL revealed the decision. The media statement says, “He is signed by KKR for INR 20 Lakh.” Who he took over for on the team was not made clear in the statement. But as was previously mentioned, Shakib Al Hasan is not available for KKR because he was absent from the tournament due to personal and international obligations.

In their first three games, KKR has won two of them, and they are currently ranked fourth in the points standings. KKR has had a strong start to the IPL 2023 season, but when their captain Shreyas Iyer was ruled out for a significant portion of the competition, it seriously hampered their preparations.

During the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy match against Australia, Iyer experienced a recurrence of a back injury. After that, Nitish Rana assumed the KKR captaincy. The Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan also made the decision to forego the competition, making him one of several players who KKR decided to replace during the season.

Shakib had to be replaced, so KKR had to go back to the list of unsold players and sign Jason Roy. Desai is the new player that the two-time IPL Champions have signed on for the year. The Gujarat batter has signed on for the remainder of the season, according to the IPL official website. Desai has 151 runs to his name for Gujarat after three first-class games.

For the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) signed Aarya Desai on Friday. Desai has played three First-Class games for Gujarat and has 151 runs to his credit. He also represents Gujarat in domestic cricket. He joins KKR for INR 20 Lakh, according to the announcement on the IPL website.6
