Gujarat Titans all-rounder Rashid Khan heaped praise on Shubman Gill, who has been in outstanding form in the 2023 Indian Premier League. He expressed that the opener has been very consistent for the franchise. The youngster slammed his second century of the tournament against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last league game.

Shubman Gill smashed 104 runs off 52 deliveries, with five boundaries and eight sixes. The Gujarat Titans won the match by six wickets, chasing down 198 runs comfortably. Earlier, Virat Kohli slammed a century in the match. Talking about the centuries of Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan said,

“I am so lucky to witness two brilliant hundreds today. Virat bhai and Shubman, the way they both played, was unbelievable. Shubman has been working very hard. He has the belief that he can convert his 50s and 60s into 100 so he has been a very consistent player for us since last year. Played a brilliant innings and I am happy for him.”

Shubman Gill has scored 680 runs at an average of 56.67, and a strike rate of 152.46. His tally includes two centuries and four half-centuries. The opener has played a vital role at the top of the order in Gujarat Titans’ success in the tournament so far. Shubman Gill expressed that in T20s, the batter has been bat with intent, and has to keep playing shots. He said,

“You need to keep playing shots in T20 cricket. You have to keep the intent and keep applying yourself, keep the belief. The new ball was holding a bit, but it got easier to bat on. The ball was getting wet, it was difficult for their spinners to bowl.”
