Before the 2023 Indian Premier League season, Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out this season due to an injury. He successfully had surgery and is likely to be out of action for a long time. He made his IPL debut in 2018 for Kolkata Knight Riders and played till 2021.
Prasidh Krishna was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 10 Crore. He played a key role for Rajasthan Royals in the 2022 edition of IPL. He looked impressive with his bowling and was one of the reasons why Rajasthan Royals reached the finals before losing to eventual winners Gujarat Titans.
Krishna was ruled before the unofficial Test series against New Zealand A last September and Shardul Thakur replaced him. The pace bowler was retained by the Rajasthan Royals franchise for Rs 10 Crore and was expected to return in the upcoming Indian Premier League season. It looks like Prasidh Krishna will be ruled out premier T20 league in the world. He would take at least 6 to 8 months to recover after undergoing another surgery.
The pace bowler looked impressive in the 2022 edition of the IPL. During a brilliant run last year, Krishna took a total of 19 wickets from 17 matches at an economy rate of 8.29 runs per over. He showed his ability to trouble the batters with pace and bounce making life tough for the opponent.
During that brilliant performance in IPL 2022, Krishna created enough pressure on the opponent batters with figures of 3 for 22. He finished as the 2nd leading wicket-taker for Rajasthan Royals with 19 wickets going at an economy rate of 8.28 runs per over. His services will be missed by RR as Sanju Samson and Co would be looking for a good replacement that would fill his shoes in the 2023 edition of IPL.
Performances of Prasidh Krishna for Team India:
Prasidh Krishna made his ODI against England on 23rd March 2021. Since his debut, Krishna has picked 25 wickets from 14 matches ( 14 innings) with best figures of 4 for 12 against West Indies helping Team India win a low-scoring match at Ahmedabad on 9 Feb 2022.
Krishna played his last ODI match for Team India on 20 August 2022 against Zimbabwe. He picked up 1 wicket for 28 runs in 6.1 overs. He would be looking to make a strong comeback with better fitness.
