The match officials’ announcement made it difficult for spectators to leave the stadium. They had a difficult time doing so, and that’s when the Kohli poster was put to use.

The IPL 2023 final between the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings and the reigning champion Gujarat Titans was a huge letdown for the throngs of spectators who had gathered at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday night.

The toss was postponed because of the evening’s constant rain before the game was canceled and moved to Reserve Day (Monday).

The fact that the rain continued even after the game was called off. Many people had arrived at the venue without their umbrellas and felt stuck late at night only served to increase the spectators’ concerns. That’s when Virat Kohli’s enormous avatar saved the day.

At 11:00 PM IST, it was announced that the match would not be played on Sunday and would instead be played on Reserve Day.

The pitch’s covered area as well as the outfield area were seriously flooded due to Ahmedabad’s nonstop rain. The field of Narendra Modi Stadium was now a small pond.

Thousands of spectators had a difficult time leaving the stadium after the announcement by the match officials. Because it was still pouring rain heavily. That’s when the Kohli poster was put to use.

The IPL 2023 organizers erected enormous posters of players in honor of their memorable games during the season. One of them was the poster for Kohli. It was brought down by the CSK and GT supporters, who then hid under it as they left the area.

Rain is predicted for Monday as well, fortunately not during play, so a full 20-20 over match will be played to determine the winner.

Chennai is participating in the IPL final for the tenth time, and the team has won five of its previous nine games. With five trophies each, they aim to tie Mumbai Indians as the most successful team in IPL history.

Contrarily, Gujarat wants to successfully defend the trophy and become the first team since Chennai to do so.
