Young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal of the Rajasthan Royals came out firing and made a mockery of the bowling of the Kolkata Knight Riders while setting a record for the fastest fifty in IPL history.
In just 13 balls, Jaiswal reached his fifty, shattering the previous record of 14 balls held by Pat Cummins and KL Rahul. Jaiswal came out swinging from the get-go, scoring his fifty in just 13 balls.

Jaiswal went on to smash an unbeaten 98. The 47-ball knock by the left-handed batter contained 12 fours and five sixes.
“To go out there and play well is something that I constantly think about. Today’s mood was pleasant. Even though I do my homework and have faith in myself, not everything I wanted happened. In his post-match remarks, Jaiswal stated, “I know the results will come.”
After Yuvraj Singh’s infamous 12-ball fifty against England in the first ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, which also included six sixes off Stuart Broad’s over, this was the second-fastest fifty overall in any form of cricket.
Wayne White, Kaushalya Weeraratne, Chris Gayle, and Hazratullah Zazai have all recorded 12-ball fifties.
In the first over of the innings, Jaiswal completely dismantled KKR captain Nitish Rana by hammering him for two consecutive sixes and fours off the first four balls to start the RR chase on a fiery note.
He then continued the assault on Harshit Rana before hitting Shardul Thakur for a hat-trick of fours to record the fastest fifty.

Jaiswal is now the second player, after Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis, to score 500 or more runs in the 2023 IPL.
Yusuf Pathan, Nicholas Pooran, Sunil Narine, and Kieron Pollard all scored half-centuries in the IPL in 15 balls, giving them the distinction of having the third-fastest fifty in the league.
