Sandeep Sharma bowled a dream spell to restrict Mumbai Indians to 179 for 9 in the reverse fixture played at Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur on 22nd April 2024. He took the wickets of Gerald Coetzee and picked Tim David’s wicket of the final delivery. It was a dream spell by Sandeep Sharma as he ended with figures of 5 for 18 in 4 overs. Due to his brilliant bowling effort, RR restricted MI to 179 for 9.

Trent Boult also bowled brilliantly with figures of 2 for 32. Avesh Khan was expensive with 1 for 49 in 4 overs. Chahal took his 200th IPL wicket getting rid of Nabi. After that, Wadehra and Varma intended to put enough pressure on the leg spinner.

Sandeep Sharma registered his best bowling figures in IPL history. His bowling efforts helped RR restrict a strong MI batting lineup to a chaseable total. This is the best figure by a bowler in IPL 2024. Jasprit Bumrah took 5 for 21 against RCB while Yash Thakur grabbed 5 for 30 against LSG.

Sharma played his previous match during IPL 2024 against Delhi Capitals. During the match against DC, Sandeep went for 36 runs in his 4 overs without picking any wickets. Sandeep featured for SRH from 2013-2017. He then played for the SRH franchise in the 2022 edition. The pace bowler then featured for PBKS from 2018-2021.
