Sunil Narine scored a swashbuckling century against Rajasthan Royals played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 16th April 2024. RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to field first. Avesh Khan took a stunning one-handed catch to dismiss Phil Salt. Narine took advantage of the drop chance and put the pressure on RR bowlers.

At the end of the first six overs, KKR scored 56 for 1. He looked out of sorts initially before showing his class against a top-quality RR bowling lineup. After the field restrictions, Narine showed his intent against R Ashwin and Chahal not allowing them to settle. He timed the ball brilliantly completing fifty off 29 balls.

After reaching his fifty, Narine took charge putting enough pressure on RR bowlers, especially R Ashwin and Chahal. Raghuvanshi also played some lovely shots against Chahal that kept the momentum going for KKR. It was a sensational batting effort as KKR struggled initially before not allowing RR bowlers.

Narine made the batting look easy with some lusty hits. He completed his century with a boundary off 49 deliveries. It was a superb knock that made life tough for RR bowlers. His innings ended with a brilliant yorker by Trent Boult. The explosive left-handed West Indies batter was dismissed for 109 off 89 balls with 13 fours and 6 sixes.

Sunil Narine showed his class putting the RR bowlers under immense pressure. Rinku Singh also hit a quickfire knock that helped KKR post 223 for 6. For RR, Avesh Khan and Kuldeep Sen took 2 wickets each while Chahal is one step away from completing 200 IPL wickets.

Narine has been in excellent form while opening the batting for KKR this season. He has proved aggressive starts in the first six overs. KKR posted 272 for 7 against DC as Narine played a key role.
