IPL 2024: Hardik Pandya Grooves To A Song While Walking Out To Bat In SRH vs MI Match

Despite facing a challenging run-chase of 278 in the IPL 2024 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday, Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya approached his batting innings calmly and composedly. A video circulating on social media captured the all-rounder enjoying the music played at the venue.

Hardik entered the crease during the 11th over of Mumbai Indians’ innings, with the scoreboard showing 150-3 following Naman Dhir’s dismissal after a brisk 30-run knock. However, despite his efforts, the all-rounder from Baroda couldn’t significantly impact the total, getting out for 24 runs off 20 deliveries, which included a boundary and a six.

The 30-year-old captain won the coin toss and elected to field first, but the Sunrisers Hyderabad dominated the opposition’s bowling attack. Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Heinrich Klaasen smashed half-centuries, driving the hosts to a record-breaking score of 277/3.

Despite a spirited effort in the chase, Mumbai Indians fell short by 31 runs.

“Our young bowling unit will learn and improve”- Hardik Pandya

Hardik, during the post-match presentation, noted that the pitch favoured batsmen excessively and expressed confidence in his young bowling lineup to recover from the setback. The seam-bowling all-rounder, who conceded 46 runs and claimed a wicket in his four overs, mentioned:

“Wicket was good, 277 no matter how bad or good you bowl, if the opposition has to score that much, they have batted well.”

“They (the bowlers) were good, it was tough out there, almost 500 runs were scored and the wicket was helping the batters, we could have done a few things here and there, but having said that, we have a young bowling attack and we will learn.”

“If the ball goes this many times into the crowd, you will need time to get the overs done.”

Mumbai Indians will play against the Rajasthan Royals on April 1st in their inaugural home game, aiming to secure their first victory of the season.
