RR vs DC

Rajasthan Royals will face Delhi Capitals in match number 9 of IPL 2024 to be played at Sawai Man Singh Stadium, Jaipur on 28th March. RR won their first match of the season at home by 20 runs with contributions from Sanju Samson that led RR to post 193 for 4 in 20 overs.

The bowling looked impressive and restricted Lucknow Super Giants to 173 for 6 to win the match comfortably. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals looked impressive with their bat in the absence of Ishant Sharma, they could not defend the target and lost the match by 4 wickets.

There will be a few player battles that will decide the fate of the match and help their team win the match.

Here we look at the 3 player battles between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals in match number 9 of IPL 2024:

  1. David Warner vs Trent Boult

David Warner showed intent right from the word go putting pressure on the Punjab Kings bowlers. He never allowed bowlers to settle hitting shots, scoring 29 runs off just 21 deliveries. His batting laid a strong foundation for DC to post a decent total in the first six overs.

On the other hand, Trent Boult had a dream start getting wickets of Quinton de Kock and Devdutt Paddikal leaving Lucknow Super Giants in trouble. It promises to be an interesting battle between the two best players for their respective countries.

David Warner has scored more than 350 runs against Rajasthan Royals. He would be eager to continue his brilliant form and hope to showcase his domination over Boult to help Delhi Capitals win their first match of the season. On the other hand, Boult is yet to dismiss Warner in the IPL journey so far.

  1. Sanju Samson vs Kuldeep Yadav

Sanju Samson looked impressive against Ravi Bishnoi during the first match against Lucknow Super Giants with ease remaining not out on 82 helping RR post 193 for 4 in 20 overs.

On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav showed his class with disciplined lines and lengths picking wickets of Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma not allowing PBKS batters to score runs easily.

It will be interesting to watch out for as Sanju Samson will play a key role in the middle overs against wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

  1. Rishabh Pant vs Yuzvendra Chahal

Rishabh Pant looked impressive after a long layoff recovering from an accident. He showed intent to score 18 off 13 deliveries. Despite being dismissed cheaply, he looked in decent touch coming down the track and playing attacking style.

On the other hand, Chahal bowled decently giving away 25 runs in his 3 overs and grabbing 1 wicket. It was a decent bowling effort by Chahal. It promises to be an interesting battle in the middle overs which could decide the fate of the game and help their team register victory.
