However, the Gujarat Titans’ path to the playoffs appears precarious due to their unfavorable Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.974. To rectify this, the Gujarat Titans must secure victories in all five of their remaining league-stage matches.
Typically, teams secure berths in the IPL playoffs with 16 points or more, necessitating the victory of at least four league-stage matches for the Gujarat Titans. Yet, the challenge looms large for them to improve their negative Net Run Rate, especially after losing one of their five games. In terms of the match itself, the Delhi Capitals elected to bat first, posting an imposing total of 224 for four.
Captain Rishabh Pant spearheaded the charge with a blistering 88 runs off just 43 balls, supported by Axar Patel’s contribution of 66 runs. In response, the Gujarat Titans displayed resilience but ultimately fell short, losing by a mere four runs. Kuldeep Yadav emerged as the standout bowler for the Capitals, claiming figures of 2 for 29 in three overs.
