IPL 2024: “I Have To Sort Of Remind Him To Act His Age Every Now And Then” – Glenn Maxwell’s Witty Remark About Virat Kohli

RCB’s all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has built a strong camaraderie with teammate and star batter Virat Kohli over the years, despite encountering each other while playing for their respective countries in international cricket.

Maxwell revealed that sharing a similar age group has facilitated a strong bond with Kohli, enabling them to discuss various aspects of cricket and life. He mentioned that although Kohli is experienced, he still enjoys cricket, and sometimes Maxwell has to help him out.

Glenn Maxwell shared insights about Virat Kohli with ESPN:

“He is like a kid in the field. It is so funny watching him bounce around. I have to sort of remind him to act his age every now and then because he is making me look bad as we are from the same age group. It’s not going well if I am telling you that (laughs).”

Recently, Kohli has been in outstanding form, scoring 203 runs in four IPL 2024 matches, boasting an impressive average of 67.67 and a striking strike rate of 140.97.

Virat Kohli is really happy to be with the RCB team: Glenn Maxwell

Even though Virat Kohli has been playing exceptionally well, Glenn Maxwell mentioned how excited Kohli has been to spend time with his teammates in the RCB dressing room. He thinks Kohli’s happy attitude has made the team feel better. He further stated:

“He has been brilliant coming back into the group and you can see him bounce around. He is pretty excited to be around the RCB boys and just be around the guys, playing well again, running around the field.”

The break appears to have benefited Kohli greatly as he currently holds the Orange Cap. However, RCB as a whole needs to reflect on their performance after losing three out of their first four games this season.
