Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a comprehensive 67-run win over Delhi Capitals in match number 35 of IPL 2024 played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi on 20th April 2024. Chasing down a massive target of 267 runs to win, Delhi Capitals lost the wicket of Prithvi Shaw in the first over itself after hitting four boundaries.

Jake Fraser McGurk showed intent right from word go putting enough pressure on SRH bowlers. The Australian batter made the batting look easy smashing 30 runs off Washington Sundar in the 3rd over.

Fraser McGurk looked in sublime touch taking on Pat Cummins with his explosive batting power. He kept the momentum going along with Abhishek Porel. Fraser completed the fastest fifty off 15 deliveries to keep Delhi Capitals hopes alive. He then continued his attacking approach and was eventually dismissed for 65 off 18 deliveries with 5 fours and 7 sixes.

Fraser and Porel added 84 runs for the 3rd wicket. His knock gave hopes of making a match out of it. Fraser smashed the fastest fifty by a Delhi Capitals batter in IPL history. Fraser also registered the third joint-fastest fifty in IPL history. Despite his knock, Delhi Capitals batters struggled as the rest of them could not contribute much. DC’s innings ended on 199 as Pant was the last batter being dismissed.

Fraser McGurk provided entertainment to the crowd with his power-hitting. T Natarajan was the pick of bowlers for SRH with 4 for 19 while Mayank Markande and Nitish Kumar Reddy took 2 wickets each. Washington Sundar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 1 wicket each.

Sunrisers Hyderabad post another record-breaking score

Sunrisers Hyderabad batters produced another record-breaking effort with the bat. After being asked to bat first by Pant, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma plundered DC bowling taking them to the cleaners. It was a superb batting effort by Head and Sharma keeping momentum going for SRH.

Travis Head completed fifty off just 16 deliveries which is the second fastest fifty this tournament. SRH scored 125 for 0 in the first six overs which put DC bowlers under immense pressure. Nitish Kumar Reddy also played quickfire cameo scoring 37 off 27 deliveries.

Kumar Reddy and Shahbaz Ahmed added 67 runs for the 5th wicket. Shahbaz Ahmed scored his first fifty off 28 deliveries that helped SRH post 266 for 7 in 20 overs. SRH made 277 for 3 against MI, 287 for 3 against RCB and now smashed 266 for 7 against DC.
