Under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, Gujarat Titans lost to Chennai Super Kings in a last-ball thriller played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad this year. It will be a major challenge for Shubman Gill to lead the Gujarat Titans during the 2024 IPL season.
Shubman Gill had a dream 2023 IPL season finishing as the leading run scorer in the tournament. He scored 890 runs from 17 matches with some breathtaking knocks that helped Gujarat Titans reach the finals. During his brilliant season, Gill smashed 3 centuries and 4 half-centuries to his name including the best score of 129 against Mumbai Indians in the qualifier 2.
Gill showed his skills while opening the innings and provided solid starts that laid a strong for Gujarat Titans to hit big scores and chase down targets. It has been a sensational year for the talented opener during the IPL 2023 season. Gill looked impressive in the finals against Chennai Super Kings but was brilliantly stumped by Dhoni.

Gujarat Titans have retained the core of players that they played in 2023. Sai Sudharsan, Abhinav Manahor, Darshan Nalkande, David Miller, Jayant Yadav, Joshua Little, Kane Williamson, Matthew Wade, Mohammed Shami, Mohit Sharma, Noor Ahmad, Sai Kishore, Rahul Tewaita, Rashid Khan, Vijay Shankar, Wriddhiman Saha.
Among the released players list, Alzzari Jospeh, Dasun Shanaka, KS Bharat, Odean Smith, Pradeep Sangwan, Shivam Mavi, Urvil Patel, and Yash Dayal will be included in the auction.
Shubman Gill would be hoping that he performs well with the bat and makes sure that he leads with the captaincy decently.
