IPL 2024: SRH vs CSK, Match 18 – 3 Player Battles To Look Out For
IPL 2024

Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Chennai Super Kings in an exciting battle to be played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on 5th April. Both teams are coming off with a loss in their respective matches.

SRH suffered 7 wicket loss to Gujarat Titans while CSK lost the match to Delhi Capitals by 20 runs. It promises to be an exciting clash between two top-quality teams in this year’s IPL.

Both teams have quality players that can change the course of the game with their abilities.

Here we look at the 3 player battles to look out for between SRH and CSK in match 18 of IPL 2024:

  1. Pat Cummins vs Ruturaj Gaikwad

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins was economical against Gujarat Titans taking 1 for 28 in his 4 overs. He could not help SRH register a win. On the other hand, Ruturaj Gaikwad was dismissed without opening his account against Delhi Capitals.

It promises to be an exciting battle between two captains trying to lead from the front. Gaikwad has made 24 runs against Cummins while the 2023 WC-winning captain dismissed CSK captain Gaikwad once.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Cummins would be eager to give their all in the first six overs to provide a positive start for their respective teams.

  1. Travis Head vs Deepak Chahar

Travis Head is an attacking batter that can put pressure back on the bowlers. He showed promise in the previous match against Gujarat Titans but was dismissed by Noor Ahmad. On the other hand, Deepak Chahar went for runs in the previous match against Delhi Capitals.

This will be the first time these two players will meet each other. Travis Head would be hoping to give SRH a flying start to put pressure on CSK bowling. On the other hand, Deepak Chahar looks to grab the wicket of Head early to stall the momentum of SRH batting lineup.

3. Heinrich Klassen vs Matheesha Pathirana

Klassen looked in great touch during the previous match against Gujarat Titans but could not convert it into a big score. On the other hand, Pathirana bowled with great control with two brilliant yorkers dismissing Mitchell Marsh and Stubbs. He was smashed by Pant which put pressure on CSK bowling.

Klassen can put spinners under immense pressure with his big shots. Pathirana has bowled four deliveries to him and dismissed him in the last edition. CSK would hope to stop the flow of Klassen dismissing him cheaply which would help them restrict strong SRH batting to a modest total.
