IPL 2024: SWOT Analysis Of Sunrisers Hyderabad
SRH

After a disappointing season last year, Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to make a new start in IPL 2024. Their team outlook has changed as World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins has been appointed as the captain for SRH replacing Aiden Markram.

They decided to buy explosive Australian opener Travis Head for 6.80 Crore, Hasranga for 1. 5 Crore, Pat Cummins for a whopping 20.50 Crore, Jaydev Unadkat for 1.60 Crore, Akash Singh 20 Lakhs, Subramanyan for Rs 20 lakhs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will start their tournament against Kolkata Knight Riders on 23rd March and hope to begin the season on a winning note.

Here we look at the SWOT analysis of the SRH Team for IPL 2024

Strengths

Sunrisers Hyderabad has top-quality batting which sees the new entrant Travis Head, Aiden Markram, Mayank Agarwal, and Glenn Phillips who can change the course of the game with their power-hitting. Apart from this, they have big hitters including Klassen, Abdul Samad, and Abhishek Sharma in the middle order which can create havoc in the death overs.

Apart from the top-quality batting, Pat Cummins and Hasranga would bolster their bowling attack. Both players have done well for their respective countries which augers well for SRH in the upcoming season.

Weakness

The 2023 season saw Sunrisers Hyderabad struggling with disappointing performances from the individuals which led them to finishing bottom of the points table. Henrich Klassen scored runs while Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the leading run wicket-taker, but other players could not give support to them.

They need to perform as a unit and ensure that Sunrisers Hyderabad has a great season ahead. Apart from Hasranga, SRH lacks a genuine spinner who can pick wickets and also stop the flow of runs in the middle overs.

Opportunities

Sunrisers Hyderabad finished bottom of the points table last season. They have many top-quality players including Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Aiden Markram, and other Indian players who have done well would be looking to prove that Sunrisers Hyderabad can challenge other top teams in the competition.

Pat Cummins has been appointed as the captain for Sunrisers Hyderabad and would be hoping to replicate the success of winning the Australia World Cup 2023. SRH will be looking for a better season and help them to qualify for the playoffs.

Threats

Sunrisers Hyderabad does not have many domestic cricketers with them as they struggled in IPL 2023. If one of the regular players gets injured, they need bench strength to rise and help them rise in the absence of established stars.

SRH has not been able to make the playoffs since 2021. They finished 8th in the 2021 and 2022 season. They would be looking to make the top four after not qualifying since the last three editions.

Expectations

Sunrisers Hyderabad have an impressive batting unit which would help them in good stead. They need their bowling to stand up in tough situations and hope that they can click as a unit.

SRH could qualify for the playoffs stage with the top-quality international players in their ranks.
