Andre Russell Knocks Over The Stumps Of Cameron Green In The RCB vs KKR Match

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s versatile player Cameron Green failed to capitalise on his promising start and was ousted by Kolkata Knight Riders’ all-rounder Andre Russell. The match is currently in progress at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday, March 29.

Green swiftly accumulated 33 runs from 20 deliveries after stepping in to bat at No.3, following Faf du Plessis’ departure in the second over. The Australian maximized the powerplay alongside Virat Kohli, who was holding fort at the opposite end.

Russell entered the bowling attack during the ninth over of the innings. Employing cutters delivered on a back-of-a-length trajectory, he managed to contain the established batsmen.  Despite only conceding a couple of runs from the first four balls of the over, Green seized the opportunity presented by a full toss aimed at the leg stump, dispatching it over deep square leg for a six.

However, on the following delivery, Green saw the middle stump disturbed as he tried to flick the ball towards the leg side. Failing to make contact with his shot, the ball struck the pad before dislodging the stump.

Even though Green’s batting time was short and didn’t achieve much, it’s a good sign for both RCB and Green. He hadn’t been doing well with the bat at the start of the season, only scoring 21 runs in his first two innings for the team.

RCB faced a tough time gaining momentum during the middle overs after Green’s departure

Cameron Green’s dismissal put RCB at 82/2 after nine overs. However, since then, RCB has found it difficult to score, with both Glenn Maxwell and Virat Kohli struggling against Russell’s slower deliveries.

Currently, RCB is at 87/2 after 11 overs, with Rajat Patidar, Dinesh Karthik, and Anuj Rawat still to bat. Kohli is nearing his second consecutive fifty, while KKR aims to increase pressure by taking another wicket in the middle overs.
