IPL 2024: [WATCH]- Dinesh Karthik Hits A Massive 108-Meter Six Off T Natarajan In The High-Scoring RCB vs SRH Match

Dinesh Karthik smashed a colossal 108-meter six off T Natarajan during the IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday (April 15). With this shot, the wicketkeeper-batsman hit the longest six of the current IPL season. He surpassed Klaasen, who previously hit a 106-meter six off Lockie Ferguson earlier in the match.

Karthik scored 83 runs off 35 balls at an impressive strike rate of 237.14, hitting seven sixes and five boundaries. The veteran right-handed batsman has been in outstanding form during IPL 2024.

In RCB’s recent matches, the 38-year-old scored an unbeaten 53 runs off 23 balls against the Mumbai Indians. He also made significant contributions with scores of 38 (26), 28* (10), and 20 (8) against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), respectively.

Dinesh Karthik aims to maintain his exceptional form to enhance his chances of securing a spot in India’s squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup. The ICC tournament is slated to take place in the United States of America and the West Indies in June.

Karthik’s stellar performance goes unrewarded as SRH outshine RCB in IPL 2024 thriller

Dinesh Karthik’s valiant effort was futile as SRH defeated RCB by 25 runs in IPL 2024 on Monday. While chasing 288, RCB posted 262/7. Besides Karthik, captain Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Anuj Rawat contributed with 62 (28), 42 (20), and 25* (14) respectively.

Pat Cummins led the charge for Sunrisers, claiming figures of 3/43, while Mayank Markande secured two wickets. In the batting department, SRH set a new IPL record by posting 287/3 after being asked to bat first. Travis Head starred with a stunning 102 off 41 balls, smashing eight sixes and nine boundaries. Heinrich Klaasen also contributed with a quickfire 67 off 31 deliveries, featuring seven sixes and two boundaries.

Abdul Samad, Abhishek Sharma, and Aiden Markram added valuable runs with scores of 37* (10), 34 (22), and 32* (17) respectively. Lockie Ferguson claimed two wickets for RCB, while Reece Topley grabbed one. With this victory, SRH solidified their position in fourth place on the IPL 2024 standings, having won four out of their first six matches. Pat Cummins and his team will face Delhi Capitals (DC) next at Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 20.

Meanwhile, RCB suffered at the bottom of the table with just one win in seven games under the leadership of Faf du Plessis. They aim to reverse their fortunes in the latter half of the IPL season as they prepare to take on KKR at Eden Gardens on April 21.
