David Miller and Rashid Khan, players of the Gujarat Titans (GT), were devastated following their loss to the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL 2024 match. The Titans fell short by four runs, losing off the last ball at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday, April 24.
Despite the significant contributions of both overseas players in keeping the Titans in the chase for 225 runs, Rashid couldn’t secure the boundary needed with five runs required off the final ball, leading to their defeat.
As the Delhi Capitals celebrated with joy, David Miller showed his despair with a bowed head, and Shubman Gill remained impassive. Rashid Khan received consolation from non-striker Mohit Sharma after the last ball.

After the victory, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant sported a smile, but it seemed tempered, perhaps indicating his awareness that the game’s outcome was uncertain until the end.
Despite his remarkable performance of scoring an unbeaten 88 runs off just 43 balls, he maintained a subdued demeanor. Pant was awarded the Player of the Match for his outstanding contribution.
Rashid Khan shared a heartfelt post following the defeat
After David Miller’s departure with a score of 55 off 23 balls, Rashid Khan became the last hope for the Gujarat Titans against the Delhi Capitals. Despite the daunting required run rate of over 18 runs per over in the last two overs, the Afghan cricketer didn’t lose hope and managed to hit crucial boundaries at the right moments.
Needing 11 runs off two balls, Rashid Khan smashed a six over long off. Although he was disappointed for not being able to hit the final ball for a six, Rashid conveyed a message to the GT fans, reassuring them that their team would continue to fight.
After losing five out of nine matches, the Gujarat Titans now occupy the seventh position in the IPL 2024 points table.
