IPL 2024: [WATCH]- Kieron Pollard Replicates His Memorable ‘It’s A Bird…It’s A Plane’ IPL Catch During A Practice Session

During a recent practice session at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indians (MI) batting coach and cricketing legend Kieron Pollard amazed fans with an impressive demonstration of fielding abilities.

In a video posted by the franchise on social media ‘X’, fans were taken back to 2015 as Pollard, renowned for his powerful batting and outstanding fielding, recreated his iconic catch from nearly a decade ago.

The footage showcases Pollard’s extraordinary agility as he jumps high in the air, extending his right hand to grab the ball from a considerable distance at long range.

Emulating the unforgettable moment against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2015, Pollard seemed to teeter over the boundary before swiftly regaining his balance and securing the catch, leaving his Mumbai Indians teammates amazed.

As Mumbai Indians prepare to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 6th at Wankhede Stadium, they seek a win to strengthen their chances of reaching the playoffs.

Currently, Mumbai Indians are at the bottom of the IPL 2024 table. When they play against Sunrisers Hyderabad, they hope to move up in the standings. But, with only three wins out of eleven matches, it’s been tough for them. They often do well in one part of the game but struggle overall, leading to losses.

In their match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium on May 3, Mumbai Indians bowled out the visitors for 169 runs.

They took advantage of the pitch’s unpredictable behavior, with Jasprit Bumrah and Nuwan Thushara each taking three wickets, and Hardik Pandya claiming 2 wickets for 44 runs.

In total, Mumbai Indians have had the upper hand in their head-to-head matchups, winning 12 out of the 21 matches played, while Sunrisers Hyderabad has won nine.
