IPL 2024: [WATCH]- Daryl Mitchell’s Amusing Dance To Celebrate Ashutosh Sharma’s Dismissal Goes Viral

During the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Dharamsala on Sunday, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Daryl Mitchell displayed his dancing skills.

In their defense of 167 runs, CSK maintained control over the Punjab batters right from the outset. Tushar Deshpande initiated the breakthroughs by dismissing Jonny Bairstow and Rilee Rossouw in the second over. Subsequently, Ravindra Jadeja took charge, delivering an impressive spell of left-arm spin bowling.

Jadeja removed Prabhsimran Singh in the ninth over and then accounted for the dismissals of Sam Curran and Ashutosh Sharma in the 13th over, nearly putting PBKS out of contention. Curran was caught by Mitchell Santner at long off, while Ashutosh was caught by Simarjeet Singh at short third man.

Immediately after Simarjeet completed the catch, Daryl Mitchell, positioned at point, was observed celebrating the dismissal with a comical dance. The footage quickly went viral and was widely shared across social media platforms.

In the end, Punjab Kings tallied 139/9 in their 20 overs, trailing by 28 runs. This resulted in their seventh loss of the season, positioning them in eighth place in the standings with eight points from 11 matches.

Meanwhile, the Super Kings have surged to third place in the table, having secured six wins out of 11 matches. Additionally, they hold a commendable Net Run Rate of +0.700.

What has been Daryl Mitchell’s performance like in IPL 2024 thus far?

The all-rounder from Super Kings has had a middling performance in this year’s lucrative league. He has faced challenges in maintaining consistency, leading to discussions about his spot in the playing XI.

In total, the New Zealand cricketer has accumulated 229 runs in 10 matches, averaging 28.63 with a strike rate of nearly 135. Daryl Mitchell has shown promising form in recent matches, providing a significant lift for the defending champions as they approach the latter stages of IPL 2024.
